National Novel Writing Month
National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo is a 30 day national writing event participants each produce a 175 page (50,000 word) novel starting on Nov. 1st and ending by Nov. 30th. each local WriMo group meets throughout the month to encourage each other and exchange ideas.
To get involved go to the NaNoWriMo website at: http://www.nanowrimo.org/
This event would be a great starting point for a submission to the SpoCon Writer's Competition
If you are under 17 years old and 50,000 words seems a bit daunting then check out the NaNoWriMo Young Writers Program where you can set your own challenging goals and work up to the full challenge.
If you are interested please also Email Dana Casper ( danac@spocon.org ) with your username so you can be added to the LEW classroom.
