Nerf Question
I was going to add a comment on to the topic already going involving weapons and what Gonzaga is allowing/disallowing but everything is gone. So I shall start it here.
I have been working on a Steampunk outfit for this year and have seen these great Nerf gun ideas, like this one:

It's my favorite.
Anyways, was wondering if they would be ok? I mean, I won't be going to extremes to modify it but it'll still obviously be a Nerf gun in the end, just prettier.

I'm going on a fantastic, you coming with?

Knight In White Satin
I'm the one who started the last topic about weapons policy, and the university shot down my rubber "Blue Guns", even with being as non-real as they are. Pretty much, if it even vaguely resembles a gun in any way, shape or form, you may as well forget taking it. I'm amazed that Lightabers aren't forbidden as well.
You go...We go!

f.r.e.a.k and Knight,
Unfortunately Knight in White Satin is correct. That steampunk piece is gorgeous and I would love to see that incorporated with a costume, but GU won't allow it. They specifically won't allow anything that fires a projectile either (even a nerf dart). Please be assured we are looking very hard and actively to find a different location but it is a very tough task. I don't believe SpoCon will be at GU for 2011, but that is not a guarantee...
I love the costuming aspect that I see so many members of fandom delve into. I want to encourage and help that out, so please keep advancing your costuming skills and ideas! SpoCon will have programming to help costumers, and of course it will give you opportunities to work with many other costumers as well. Our next location should be much more liberal with the props you can bring.
