Okay gang... since we've had a great, or better yet, amazingly amazing discussion and enthusiasm for some type of Fan Film Shorts contest, I'm starting this here thread. There have been a fantastic amount of ideas in regards to categories, and what not. Here is a quick summary (please add to this if there is important stuff I'm missing)

Length: 3 to 5 minutes
Format: .avi, .mpg, or .wmv, .avi preferred.
Showing and Judging: Saturday night
Deadline: TBD
Categories:
- Music video
-- Anime
-- Gaming
-- General Fan
-- Youth fan (12 and under)
- Fan film short
-- Anime
-- Gaming
-- General Fan
-- Youth fan (12 and under)
(is that enough categories?.. .should be plenty)

Films can be animated, live action, Machinima, edited footage

Awards:
* one for each category
* editing
* originality
* "Fan" Favorite (con members vote on this one)
* Best in "show" (ahahahahahaha... I'm too punny) judges do this one.

I am sending out feelers to area video companies, instructors, and all that for some judges and maybe some help with prize support.

Looks like I somehow set myself up as the lead in all of this... dang my weakness for good ideas.

FYI, I was already working on setting up a Fan Music Video contest so if you wish to run a separate Fan Film Contest, be my guest. If not, I've already started on a list of rules for the contest, which I hope to get finalized/up on the site soon.

Yes, I will support a fan film contest however I can (space, time, etc.) Just let me know VERY SOON. And the contestants need to know yesterday lol.

Perhaps you can mesh these two events together. I didn't realize you were working on something like this. I was only aware of anime jeopardy.

As I was saying, perhaps you can mesh these two events together. Perhaps help Tim run it? Be his second in command? I am sure he would appreciate it. What do you think of the rules that we have set out here? One big event will be more successful rather than two smaller and similar events.
