Networking and Promo

Hi,
I had a quick question, and I will admit up-front that I'm a complete
Con newbie, so bear with me.

I haven't found much in the way of rules (am I missing an obvious link?) so I'm not sure if
this is a rules question or a protocol one, but either way...

What is the official take on networking/promo-ing at the con? Specifically, I was thinking of bringing
along a handful of freebie / promotional materials (for my sci-fi series) to trade, give away, or just have
on hand if the topic came up. If this is not allowed, Im happy to leave them home, if it's just considered rude,
I'd much rather leave them home.

Anyone know?

Thanks
Frances

Half the fun of a Con is networking and promoting yourself, by all means bring them! We'll likely have a table or rack setup for people to put their "freebie" stuff on/in.

Depends on how well you network Eye

As stated, it is perfectly acceptable to network, promote. It really is what Cons are all about. Heck, you may even get some help and gain some stalk...err.. I mean, "adoring fans". Make some time and meet our Onkle Sven (John Dalmas) - he's one of the greatest supporters of new writers, and he won't pull any punches when reading your work. Plus, He's one of the most amazing people on the face of the planet.

Oh, to the rest of us it's about ten percent but you have no idea how much John Ammon likes to talk about himself. For him it is half the fun and he's making a conservative estimate at that. Laughing out loud

Uncle Sven is awesome--if there's one person to meet at a convention, it is John Dalmas.

Only listen to the second part of what Stan said (He doesn't really ever come to meetings, he's barely even ConCom Shocked )
