Writer's Worshop

So far I have 3 Authors interested in presenting panels: Deby Fredericks, MJ Engh, & Vicki Mitchell. We also have publisher Russ Davis of Graydog Press.

Panel ideas are:
Incorporating differant Cultures and their History in fiction.
Writing & Publishing Fiction Pro's & Con's
Value of Writer's Groups
How to write fantasy- creating magic systems, creating the worlds/races and more
How to write Science Fiction-technology guidelines, creating the worlds/races and more.

Other panels ideas are: Exploring other media writing-games, TV. comic books,etc. & Humor writing. However i don't have/know any Authors who could present either of these panels.

I know they are both long shots, but Joss Whedon has written for movies, television, comic books, video games, and internet. Also Neill Gamin does Comics (his Sandman comics pretty much pioneered comics and graphic novels in the United States) and he's adapted a couple of his books for movies.
Both of 'em do Sci/fantasy.
Just a thought.

I would have loved to invite them, but we have no budget to bring them here, etc, Plus this event is 4/4/09 & time is running short.

Sweet! I can't wait to go to this, Looks like their is going to be some good ground basics for those who want to learn how to become a great writer.

Wish I actually knew some people who could help with the remaining panel ideas. :S Either way though I think we have a lot to look forward to!

May I suggest you invite Keith Baker, the creator of Eberron and the author of a number of Eberron novels? I met him at another con and he's a nice guy and runs a pretty good game.

The Author's that we have lined up so far are; M.J. Engh, Vicki Mitchell, Deby Fredericks, & Leslie S. Davis. We also have Russ Davis of Gray Dog Press
