Fan Guest

Dragon Dronet is a seasoned twenty-five year veteran prop maker, stunt choreographer, stuntman and actor. Having worked for all the leading effects shops in Hollywood, his work has earned him the reputation of a top designer, prop/model/specialty costume maker, designing and building some of the most memorable props and costumes ever created. Dragon has worked for companies such as Paramount, Warner Bros., 20th Century Fox, Universal, Sony, MGM, Disney and Raleigh studios, and with industry leaders such as Steven Spielberg, Tim Burton, Michael Bay, and Bob Ringwood. His expertise led him to work on the films Demolition Man, Aliens Resurrection, Jurassic Park, Batman and Robin (creating seven hand hammered aluminum Mr. Freeze suits of Armour), Eraser, Total Recall, A.I., and many dozens of other blockbuster films. He also worked on Star Trek for ten years making numerous props and weapons, designing and creating many of the Klingon weapons, including the Bat’leh and the Sword of Kahless, on all the various Star Trek television series and films. He has played a Klingon and Warf’s double in several Star Trek episodes, and has worked on other television programming such as Babylon 5 (all 5 years), Alien Nation, Space Rangers, Lost, Trueblood, Heroes, and many more.

Dronet not only knows how to make the props, weapons and costumes, he also knows how to use them, as Dragon is a skilled veteran of martial arts, professional swordsman, and an expert in all forms of weapons creation, historical, current or sci-fi. As a result, Dragon has performed stunts in many feature films, and was hired to be one of twelve lead Red Army gorillas in Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes, choreographing many of the fight scenes and inventing the sword fighting style and techniques used by the Red Army gorillas. He was also one of the Memnon warriors in The Scorpion King and created the hero Armour pieces worn by the Scorpion King army.

At Renegade Effects Group, Dragon’s company, he lends his vast experience in special effects to their own projects, and the many other projects that come in from outside production companies and studios. Dragon has supervised the creation of special effects for film, television, commercials, themed entertainment and video games for more than half his adult life.
