For those of you familiar with the SETI (Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence) and the SETI@Home distributed computing application may find this of interest. SETI may have located something of interest, a regular Laser pulse emanating from a single location:

That's very cool. Just read it. While pulsar's have a regular pulse which has in the past led people to believe that it was extra-terrestrial due to its non-random effect, the closest known pulsar to Earth is "PSR J0108-1431". It lies in the direction of the constellation Cetus, at a distance of about 85 parsecs (or 280 light years). So, with the closest being 280 light years away, and that test being done within 100 light years, it lends more credibility to the ET action.

The possibility then remains that either discovery of extraterrestrial communication or A pulsar star within a hundred Light years of us is sweet. The findings of future research is being waited for with baited breath by all the nerds of the world and I stand most proudly among them even if I am not one of the most well versed among us. Smiling
