Site Updates: And So It Begins!

Hey everyone, SpoCon is barely over, still fresh in our minds and the Web Team will be doing some site upgrades pretty soon, we'll be analyzing what features were used, which were not and adjusting the sites features accordingly, as well as making general site technology updates. So if the site become unavailable in the near future, that's why, rest assured we'll be back in no time with fresh info for you and a tidied up site.

Just for the record, I would have used the following features more if there had been any info attached to them...

Media Rooms- There was no schedule posted of what was going to be shown.
Filk Corner- No information
Hospitality- No information. I would have liked to know what was available to eat so I could supply my own/extra if needed. I was rather disappointed that the Hospitality was the only food available to attendees. Especially when that nice menu of food was made available volunteers/pros/GOH only. Last year, we could have at least bought some overpriced chips and cheese from Pandini's, but we all know how that worked out. =)

Gaming- There is an obvious lack of any gaming info unless you are into Warhammer/40k. While I do enjoy the game on occasion, it did seem like there was preferential treatment given to all those events while absolutely nothing was posted about all the other gaming opportunities available this weekend. A complete gaming schedule would have been nice. I am one who likes to plan my weekend in advance so I can make the most out of my attendance.

Pics- there is no where/way to post pics of the con (that I am aware of). It would be cool to be able to have a page dedicated to seeing the professional and fan pics taken by us over that fun weekend!

Masquerade- Obviously, any chance I can get to harass your hard working lady is welcome =) I know she will be rockin' this issue ASAP.

I know you already know this.... but again, for the record:

We need more information posted and in a timely manner for adequate preparation. Thanks for letting us post our gripes and rants!!

On the positive side, I really liked the layout of the site. It was easy to navigate and find the information that was available. I liked the links to all the local clubs, events and sister cons too! Thanks for all the work everyone has put into this convention. It is not an easy task, I know it is a learning process as well. For all the complaints, know that they are mostly tweaks to help improve an already good thing that you all put on for us.

We are totally working a system for scheduling and getting that information posted in much easier to digest format. Especially Gaming --
